Day 7 - 3D Design and Printing

Tuesday was quite uneventful. We began our day with a progress check, and all shared the improvements and revisions we have made since yesterday. After that, we just worked on our designs and printed when needed. After lunch, we had a quick chat about the morning and then got right back to work and worked all the way through the end of the day. Below are some pictures of what I am designing. I am designing a chessboard(as said in the day 6 blog), but I have changed the theme of the chessboard from my favorite video game to flora. The idea I have for it is different types of plants or flowers in larger or smaller sizes to signify which piece is which. Below are some screenshots of the previous design that I scrapped in favor of this.

  Today we worked on our planes more. The students got much better at modeling the planes. Some students created more planes, and some worked on their old ones. The printers had a bunch of malfunctions for a single person; however, they worked for everyone else. We plan to test our planes tomorrow at lunch, and the winner will get a prize. 3D Printing and Modeling M-Term - Day 1

Welcome to our 3D Printing and Modeling M-Term! This course is led by Mr. Beradino, and we will be diving deep into the world of 3D printing with Bambu Studio and 3D modeling with Fusion 360 and Blender. Today we worked on modeling pencil  holders in Fusion 360 using basic techniques such as shape building and combining objects. We also learned how to use Bambo Studio software with the printers to print out these objects. Here are some photos of students working:

3D Printing and Modelling M-Term: Day 3

Today, our class continued working on our planes for the 'competition' that we're going to do tomorrow morning. Mr. Beradino also introduces us to a third project, where we can do anything as long as it is a) for a phone, and b) has a joint (i.e., hinges). To help prepare us for this, he taught us how to make hinges for our project!     Personally, I am going to make a phone/card/pen holder that attaches to the leg of my wheelchair! I'm very excited about this, especially because everything currently on the market is so bulky, or doesn't work for someone like me.               Something that I thought was really cool was that Mr. Beradino let me use a soldering iron to help stabilise the pieces of my plane through soldering excess filament onto the lines where the body and wings connected.
